"Nothing, it appears to me is of greater value in a man than the power of judgement; and the man who has it may be compared to a chest fulled with books, for he is the son of nature and the father of art."

—Pietro Aretino (1492-1556) Italian poet, writer, dramatist

Library Pub Night at O'Brien's Pub & Grill will feature great prizes, including a Nook e-reader

Following last year's success, O'Brien's Pub & Grill is once again hosting a fundraiser to benefit the Ouray Library's book purchases and programs. This year's event will feature prizes given away throughout the evening, including library book bags, adult and junior fiction, and a Nook e-reader.

"This fundraiser will help us raise essential funds," explained Library Director Chris Reece. "With money raised, we'll be able to add items to our collection as well as cover a significant portion of our Summer Reading Program expenses."

The Library raised more than $700 at last year's event and hopes to top $750 this year. Whether you come by for a meal or a beer, Library staff and board members will be on hand to serve you . . . and to collect your donations.

Adults of all ages and families are welcome. The event will be held Sunday, May 5, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at O'Brien's Pub & Grill located at 726 Main Street, Ouray, CO.

If you have any questions about the event, please e-mail OurayPL@gmail.com.
