Dozens of Ouray Public Library patrons donated boxes upon boxes worth of canned food and dry goods to benefit the Ouray County Food Bank—and cleared all overdue fines from their records. This year’s Food for Fines program was extended to ensure that as many patrons as possible had the opportunity to benefit. “It’s been a tough year all around and this was a fantastic way to give our patrons some financial relief (by waiving their fines) and to stock the food bank with much-needed provisions,” Library Director Chris Reece explains.
The Ouray Public Library is located at 320 6th Avenue and is open from Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The Ouray County Food Bank is located at the Calvary Church on 2nd Street and is open on Tuesday afternoons from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
