"History is a living horse laughing at a wooden horse. History is a wind blowing where it listeth. History is no sure thing to bet on. History is a box of tricks with a lost key. History is a labyrinth of doors with sliding panels, a book of ciphers with the code in a cave of the Saragossa sea. History says, if it pleases, Excuse me, I beg your pardon, it will never happen again if I can help it."

—Carl Sandburg (1878-1967) American writer known for free verse, Smoke and Steel

The Ouray Public Library received a $1,000 grant from the Zanett Foundation.

The Ouray Public Library received a $1,000 grant from the Zanett Foundation. The grant was designated for the purchase of an Elite 60™ Disc Repair and Maintenance System.

“Our patrons increasingly are taking advantage of our movie and audio book collection,” explains Library Director Chris Reece. “We are thrilled that these items are getting so much use, but as a result, we find that they require additional maintenance to ensure that we can keep the items in good condition.”

The disc repair and maintenance system also will be available for patrons’ items. Movies and audio books can be dropped off to be cleaned and repaired on Wednesdays. The items will be available for pick-up the following Wednesday. The charge for cleaning and repair is $1.00 per disc. The money raised will go toward maintaining the library’s collection of movies and audio books.
