Library Appointments are on hold (January 2021)
Patrons may make 30-minute appointments to browse our collections, borrow books and movies, and use our computers. Access to collections will be limited to one patron or family at a time. Patrons are limited to one computer session per day and technical assistance will not be available. Appointments are made for the current week only: Monday to Friday — 10:15 am to 12:30 pm and from 1 to 4:45 pm. Face masks/coverings are required to enter the facility and while browsing the collections.
Walk-Up Service Desk Remains Opens
Patrons also may visit our walk-up service desk to speak with library staff. Library staff will pull requests for patrons, accept returns, and answer as many questions as we can. Monday to Friday — 10:15 am to 12:30 pm and from 1 to 4:45 pm.
Home Delivery and Pickups
For homebound or quarantined patrons, staff will pull resources for delivery and schedule pickups within city limits and surrounding neighborhoods. Returns must be placed in a tied plastic bag or a folded paper bag. To schedule, email OurayPL@gmail.com or call (970) 325-4616. Delivery is offered upon request.
Curbside WiFi Access
The Ouray Library’s public WiFi access is now available from the bench outside City Hall or from parked cars facing the curb. Network: Ouray Library – Public. No password required.
Computer and Internet Access by Appointment
Internet and computer access is available on an appointment-only basis, including time to use personal devices. Patrons may schedule one 30-minute appointment by calling (970) 325-4616 or emailing OurayPL@gmail.com. Face masks/coverings are required while using a computer or personal device.
Send print requests to PrintOurayPL@gmail.com and call 970-325-4616. Please attach a PDF or Word file. Print jobs are single-sided black-and-white only. Staff cannot access links to download documents from websites. Up to 5 pages are free; additional pages are $0.25 each.
Statewide Holds Now Available
Statewide holds are available to Ouray Library patrons. Patrons may place holds on statewide resources. Note that some library resources are not yet available and some libraries are limiting the number of requests. Anticipate that delivery will take longer than usual.
Book Sale and Book Donations
The 2020 Ouray Library book sale was postponed. We are not taking any donations at this time. Please do not leave donations on library property.
Digital Resources and Virtual Programs
Please take advantage of the library’s digital resources: Cloud Library. Many more free online resources have been added to the site. The Ouray Library Facebook page will include daily updates as well as ideas for staying occupied and engaged during this time.
Weekend Backpack Program
The Ouray Library is distributing weekend backpacks through Summer 2021. Backpacks are available for pickup at the Ouray Library on Fridays after school. To enroll in the program, please call (970) 325-4616 or email ProgramsOurayPL@gmail.com.
