Become a Ouray Library Patron Today
Ouray Library District residents may obtain a library card by providing a current driver’s license or identification card. The following items are also acceptable means to establish residency: (1) A personal or business check with the applicant’s name and a Ouray address. (2) A utility bill or deposit receipt with the applicant’s name and a Ouray address.
The Ouray Library issues family cards. A parent or legal guardian must personally accompany a person under the age of eighteen (18) years old who is registering. Immediate family members of a registered borrower are automatically extended library privileges provided they live at the same address as the registered patron, and the patron agrees. Patrons who lose their cards will be issued a new card, if their record is clear and no fines are owed.
The Library Director may refuse borrowing privileges to any patron who has abused the privileges of library service, whether it be by consistently retaining overdue material, losing or destroying material, refusing to pay assessed fines or fees, or by generally abusing the privileges offered.
