Technology Accessibility Progress

Purpose: This document outlines the commitment and concrete actions taken by Ouray Public Library to ensure the accessibility of its digital products and services. Our efforts are guided by House Bill 24-1454 and aim to provide equal access to all users, including individuals with disabilities.

1. Progress-to-Date Report

Ouray Public Library is dedicated to transparency and continuous improvement in our accessibility efforts. We have established a comprehensive reporting system to document our progress toward compliance on our front-facing web pages.

• Initial Assessment: Conducted a thorough accessibility audit of all front-facing web pages using automated tools and manual testing methods to identify accessibility barriers.

• Remediation Plan: Developed a detailed remediation plan addressing identified issues, with specific timelines and responsible parties assigned to each task.

• Implementations to Date:

Web Content Updates: Updated HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to adhere to WCAG 2.1 AA standards.

Accessibility Training: Conducted mandatory training sessions for web developers, content creators, and other relevant staff on accessibility best practices.

Quarterly Updates: To maintain accountability and demonstrate ongoing efforts, we commit to updating this report quarterly. Each update will include:

• Completed Actions: Summary of actions taken in the past quarter.

• Ongoing Projects: Status of ongoing accessibility projects.

• Future Plans: Outline of planned initiatives for the upcoming quarter.

2. Accessibility Redress Process

We understand that despite our best efforts, users may still encounter accessibility issues. To address this, we have established a clear and easy-to-find process for requesting redress for inaccessible digital products. This process is designed to be accessible to all users, including those who may not have web access or who may face digital accessibility challenges.

Contact Options for Redress:

These contact options are prominently displayed on all front-facing web pages, ensuring they are easy to locate and access. Additionally, we commit to responding to all accessibility requests within 5 business days, providing updates on the resolution process.

3. Prominent Display of Accessibility Information

To further our commitment to accessibility, we ensure that all relevant accessibility information, including the progress-to-date report and contact options for redress, is prominently displayed on our front-facing web pages. This includes:

• Accessibility Statement: A link to our Accessibility Statement is located in the footer of every page, providing an overview of our commitment and efforts.
